When it’s winter season I really could buy everything that contains mohair – a special kind of wool. I really love its structure and that it really (!) keeps you warm. Especially sweaters and cardigans made out of mohair (or alpaca) wool are a current trend – when you scroll around in online shops like Acne Studios or Closed you can only find knitwear made of that expensive wool.
Because of this hype, commercial brands like H&M, Zara or Vila also started to sell sweaters, cardigans or coats that contain mohair – that’s definitely less expensive, but then the product often is mixed with other fabrics instead of 100% wool, but it’s a great alternative anyway.
Today I’ll show you a mohair sweater of my little collection!
I bought this sweater one or two months ago at H&M and it’s so soft that I could wear it every day. Sometimes wool (and further mohair) tends to be scratchy, but you simply have to try it, because the clothing can feel different depending on the mixture of wool and other materials. In the meantime I got accustomed to the wool’s structure, but at the beginning it really wasn’t easy. A small tip: just put on a light-weight (sleeveless or long-sleeved) jersey top below – you won’t feel the wool that much, it will keep you warm twice and when it gets really hot inside you can put off your sweater, too.
So, how do you like coats, cardigans and pullover made out of wool/mohair? Tell me in the comments!
